COVID-19 Update
I would like to thank you for your continued support of our school in this time of significant and unparalleled upheaval. Your role in supporting your child to learn from home is vital and we are committed to doing everything we can as a school to make learning experiences as engaging as possible.
The teaching staff and school executive have been working extremely hard to enhance the delivery of learning to students whilst they are working from home. We will also continue to make contact where necessary to support you in the home environment. We absolutely understand that parents are not teachers but rather important partners in their child’s educational journey. We just ask parents to complete what they can.
The NSW Department of Education has indicated that school will resume on Tuesday 28 April using the same ‘operational framework’ that currently exists. We will continue to operate online providing distant learning opportunities and resources for parents to support learning from home.
In light of the ongoing restrictions imposed by the Australian Government and along with updates and requirements on school operations, some Term 2 events will unfortunately need to be cancelled or postponed. As a large school of over 900 students, this is particularly relevant for our day-to-day operations in order to maintain optimal health of all students, staff and community members. Whilst it is unfortunate, the following changes to internal school routines and events will occur:
- School Photos POSTPONED
- Winter PSSA POSTPONED
- Hills Performing Arts CANCELLED
- Schools Spectacular CANCELLED
- Cross Country CANCELLED
- NAPLAN CANCELLED
- P&C Meetings CANCELLED
- Band Camp CANCELLED
As the school is kept updated by the NSW DoE and NSW Health, we will continue to keep our school community informed.
Thank you for your understanding in these challenging times. Have a safe and healthy Easter break and we look forward to working with your child in Term 2.
Regards,
Craig Warner
Principal
