Preparation for Super Saturday
21 Feb 2019
Tomorrow is the big day!
11:00 AM-4:00 PM
It is with great excitement that I can announce a major project occurring in the school. Over the past six months I have been in negotiations with numerous supporting partners and can now announce that the entire back oval of the school stretching up to the COLA will be irrigated and returfed at no cost to the school or Department of Education. This is a major undertaking and WE NEED YOUR HELP! On Saturday 23 February the school will be holding 'Super Saturday' in collaboration with Youth off the Streets and Hogs for the Homeless. On the day we will be hosting a number of activities including a car show, BBQ, mega raffle and pass the ball competition. This community event is open for all students, parents and family members and a percentage of funds raised will be donated towards Youth off the Streets. This year Jasper Road P.S will also be the finish point for the 2019 Hogs for the Homeless tour. Each year the tour raises awareness and funds for youth homelessness, specifically Youth Off The Streets, with NSW N RL State coach Brad Fittler and his crew including many Origin legends, taking the mission around the state. All attendees will have the chance for a meet and greet and autograph session with a number of famous ex-players and current NRL stars before the real work begins. To finish off the day, we will be attempting a state record at the fastest time to lay over 3000sqm of turf. The record to beat is just over 1 hour and with enough support I am confident we can be the new record holders. Every set of hands is needed whether they are 7 or 70 years old. Media will be present throughout the day and a number of special surprise guests will also be attendance. I would obviously like to thank our supporting partners listed on the flyer as it will be a day not to be missed and a celebration of the fantastic community at Jasper Rd. Mr Craig Warner Principal
